Getting married on New Years eve might sound like an unusual time to have your wedding, but being New Years it definitely adds to the festivities. AB and Amanda decided that New Years eve it would be. And what a really cool wedding it was. Being December in Jeffreys Bay it was hot and as the day cooled down it turned into a perfect evening. I don’t think anyone could have asked for more perfect weather for their new years wedding. The service was held at the chapel at Mentors Country Estate, a quaint little wedding chapel built from stone.
The photographer was Jacey Searra from Knysna, who was absolutely wonderful to work with. For the bridal photography she chose to take the couple to an old railroad just outside of Jeffreys Bay, and naturally we tagged along for the ride. The light was great with barley a breath of wind. It is often during the bridal photo shoot that a lot of the best video comes from. It is the only time of the wedding day that the bride and groom are almost alone and not distracted by all their guests. Which allows you to capture certain moments between them in a more natural setting than what most wedding venues allow. It is the time I most enjoy filming the bridal couple and always gives the best results.
After the photo shoot it was back to Mentors Country Estate to carry on with the wedding celebrations. Even though we never stayed to the end I’m sure there was a seriously loud count down into the new year.
Thank you so much to AB & Amanda as well as all your wedding guests for letting us share your new years wedding with you. You guys make a wonderful couple and we wish you all the best for your married life together.
